An honours year in psychology is useful for both those pursuing a career as a psychologist, and those preparing for postgraduate study. During the honours year, students who have previously completed a relevant undergraduate degree learn a range of psychological assessment methods, plus get an understanding of the process of formulating psychological opinion in casework. The research and analytical skills you develop in your honours year will strengthen the quality of your research projects, and become indispensable tools in your future career.

Designed for students who have completed an undergraduate degree in a discipline other than psychology, the course introduces you to the fundamentals of psychology and human behaviour while fast-tracking your journey to becoming a registered psychologist.

2009 - 2017 Team Leader / Unit Chair - Health Behaviour (HBS110)

Jaclyn has run Deakin University School of Psychology’s largest unit HBS110: Health Behaviour, annually teaching more than 2100 Faculty of Health students the skills and principles of behaviour modification. The unit examines the skills and principles of behaviour modification. Students undertake experiential and reflective learning approaches to develop and understanding of the process, challenges and skills involved in health behaviour change.
